The 22nd Wesley Powell Benjamins Track & Field Meet
The Organizing Committee will celebrate the 22nd staging of the unique Track and Field Meet. The Meet is listed on the World Athletics Global Calendar and is fully endorsed by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).

Early Season Testing!
The meet is listed on the World Athletics Global Calendar and athletes in the field events will earn world ranking points. The meet which begins at 8:30 am is one of the earliest in the track and field calendar each season and is used by most coaches as a testing ground for a number of their athletes. The meet is known to be on-time with the 150m races going off every 90 seconds.
The nine-lane grass track on which the athletes will run will see them compete in running shoes as spikes will only be allowed for field events. The stance is being taken by the event organisers based on recent research.

$700 per athlete. All cheques should be made payable to Excelsior High School.
Lunches will be provided for teams at a cost of J$900.00 each. Drinks will be also on sale. Kindly indicate via email to dashathletics@gmail.com whether or not your team(s) will require lunches. You must state the number of lunches required.
ADMISSION: Spectators $500. Secured Parking J$300. Coaches and Team Managers will be issued passes based on the number of athletes registered. 1 Pass for every 8 athletes.

The 22nd staging of this unique over-distance meet where athletes compete in sneakers in events 150m, 300m, 600m, 1000m, 3000m, 5000m, and the exciting 4x300m relay. Field Events include Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Long Jump, High Jump. All Field events as well as the 3000m and 5000m events are qualifiers for ISSA/Grace Boys and Girls Champs. The Meet is also listed in the World Athletics Global Calendar which means that athletes can earn World Ranking points from their performances.

WESTERN SCHOOLS TO RECEIVE HOSPITALITY AT THE 22nd WESLEY POWELL BENJAMINS TRACK AND FIELD MEET
The Organizing Committee of the Wesley Powell Benjamins Track and Field Meet announced at the Event Launch on Wednesday, that teams from Western Jamaica who were affected by the passing of Hurricane Melissa, will be hosted on December 13 at the Meet.
Wesley Powell Memorial to make consideration for Hurricane Melissa-affected athletes
The launch was held yesterday inside the school’s auditorium, with organisers confirming an 8:30 a.m. start. The opening events will feature the High School Boys’ Open 5000 metres followed by the High School Girls’ Open 3000 metres. Both races will serve as qualifiers for next year’s ISSA Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
