History
The What & The When
When We Got Started
Our Meet started on December 5, 1998, as the demand for development meets in Jamaica became apparent. We have continued strong ever since.
Our Patron
Named after the founder of the High School, the name Wesley Powell has a long history attached to it in the educational system. We honour his memory of excellence with a meet of a similar calibre.
9-Lane Full Size Track
Full size 9-Lane 400m grass Track, newly refurbished at a cost of $1.5 million. Separate warm-up and marshalling area. Separate area for Javelin throw and Shot put.
100K+ Participated
Over the years, our meet has aided in the development of some of Jamaica’s legendary athletes. Our meet has served as an early testing ground for athletes and coaches who prepare for the High School Championships or National Championships.
